FALMOUTH, Maine - A New Hampshire man was killed on Wednesday in a head-on crash on the Falmouth Spur.
The collision occurred around 8:10 a.m., on the east end of the spur on the ramp areas which is not a divided highway.
An initial investigation indicated that 54-year-old Raymond Giard III of Nashua was operating a Chevrolet Silverado east on the spur on the wrong side of the roadway crashing head-on into 49-year-old Charles Jack of Poland who was operating a Honda CRV, police said in a statement released on Thursday.
As a result of the crash Jack suffered serious but nonlife threatening injuries. Giard was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing but alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
