MANCHESTER - Adam Montgomery was sentenced on Thursday to 45 years to life for killing his five-year-old daughter Harmony.
"Harmony was an innocent five-year-old, you treated her in the worst of possible ways, in both her life and her death," Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Amy Messer told Adam Montgomery.
He was convicted of second-degree murder, tampering with witnesses and informants, abuse of corpse, second-degree assault and falsifying physical evidence.
New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella said the case leaves "a lasting scar" on New Hampshire, but was gratified that the man responsible for her death and suffering was being held accountable.
"Justice has been served and Harmony Montgomery's memory and legacy remain our focus<" Formella said. "Today's sentence demonstrates that our legal system takes heinous crimes seriously and holds perpetrators accountable for their actions. The murder of an innocent child leaves a lasting scar on New Hampshire and our hearts go out to Harmony's family and all those who knew and loved her."
