Today's tribute to a wonderful musician, friend and human being will be full of memories, music and the joy he brought to audiences throughout the Seacoast.
Ron Jones was nothing short of a legend in his many decades spent entertaining fans all over the Greater Rochester area.
He played large venues, small venues, even when he was in failing health.
He even played with me in my man-cave one summer.
He'd come over once a week and jam with me, and although I was no Eric Clapton - not even close by far - he was never judgmental and always encouraging.
We'd play a couple of hours then head down to the Milton Moose and have a couple of drinks.
I would guess he could be one of the kindest men I ever knew.
Today's tribute at Club Victoire will include bands including the Double Edge Blues Band, Texas Pete, Moulton Blues Band, Hempcats and Hellraisers, Daisy Cutter 6, and Stiletto. Cost of admission is a $10 donation. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Must be 21 to attend.
I guarantee the tribute will be rocking with joy, and he'll be rocking with us with the rest of the music greats upstairs.
