WEST LEBANON - Chris Ziadeh of West Lebanon wasted no time getting fishing season started Thursday as temperatures soared near 70.
Wading 40 feet into the Salmon Falls River just south of the Garage Way dam, he set up shop with his golden retriever on an outcrop of rocks where he cast into the frothy waters looking to catch that first fish of the season.
Ziadeh, a student at the University of New Hampshire majoring in environmental science, said he'd often caught many a brown trout in this spot, but not on Thursday.
The water had a bit of a chld, but not enough to deter him.
"It's a little chilly, not that bad," he said.
Just so the UNH deans can relax, Ziadeh noted no classes were skipped in the making of this excellent outing.
