To the editor:

The Foley Foundation wishes to thank the hundreds who joined us at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center in Rochester for the 10th annual Foley Freedom Run in memory of New Hampshire journalist, James Foley who was killed by ISIS in 2014. It was a perfect autumn day featuring a Kids Run, refreshments donated by Walmart, McKenzie farms, Harvey Bakery, McDonalds, Strafford Farms and oldies music played by Thursday Afternoon Band.

Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan presented a U.S. Senate resolution honoring the life and moral courage of James Foley and the Foley Foundation's work which has, over the last 10 years, helped to free more than 130 fellow Americans from unjust captivity abroad and deliver safety education to thousands of aspiring and freelance journalists. The senators were joined by New Hampshire Congressman Chris Pappas, who ran the entire 5K! Lee Falgoust, a Pennsylvania businessman, presented the foundation with an American flag and memorabilia from the attempted July 2014 military operation to rescue Jim, aid workers Kayla Mueller, Peter Kassig, and journalist Steven Sotloff.

Thank you for making our event a resounding success. Your generosity enables our small team to have an outsized impact in addressing a critical national security crisis.

We are forever grateful for your ever growing and heartfelt support.

- Diane Foley,

President & Founder, Foley Foundation
