DOVER - Dover's 99 restaurant is kind of tucked away on Hotel Drive, so if you're headed through the old Weeks Circle intersection you could easily miss it, but judging by the crowd eating their last week, this is a destination restaurant for many.
By now Rochester Voice readers know this writer's penchant for chicken, and it continued unabated last Wednesday when we enjoyed the 99's Honey Mustard Chicken salad.
The huge plate of came out within 10 minutes of ordering and boasted a large amount of chicken, which could have been seasoned a bit more.
The salad also had copious amounts of Applewood smoked bacon, shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers and crunchy red onions.
Their signature honey mustard dressing was fine, but could've used a little more heat.
More disturbing was that when I ordered a glass of Pino Grigio I was informed they had none. That's like saying they ran out of Budweiser, which they hadn't, so I got one of those.
The positive takeaways. More than enough to fill a belly a couple of times, pleasant wait staff and meals come out promptly.
All important for a pleasant weekday lunch.
