LEBANON - Two Lebanon teenagers were injured early today when their car crashed and rolled over at least twice on Route 202.

It was one of two early morning crashes that occurred on Lebanon roads.

The accident on Route 202 was reported at 1:45 a.m. and was located about a mile east of Center Road, where it appeared a 2006 Pontiac G6 sedan traveling east had left the roadway and rolled into a swampy area, according to a Lebanon Rescue press release.

The occupants of the car, an 18-year-old male driver and his 16-year-old female passenger, were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester with what are described as nonlife-threatening injuries. Both were from East Lebanon and were wearing seat belts, the press release stated.

The vehicle suffered heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

The second accident was reported to emergency responders still at the scene of the first accident around 3:30 a.m. and occurred at the corner of Upper Cross and Center roads, the site of a double fatal accident last September.

When Rescue crews arrived at the scene they found a truck that had gone off the roadway, struck a mailbox and landed in a ditch, according to the press release.

The vehicle was identified as a Ford F-150.

“It appeared the accident had just happened, but no occupants were on scene,” said Assistant Rescue Chief Jason Cole, who added it appeared the motorist had missed the end of Upper Cross Road.

Emergency crews used a thermal imaging camera to scan the area to make sure the driver or occupants weren’t nearby and injured, but no one was found.

The truck was towed from the scene.

Maine State Police were at the scene of both accidents, which they continue to investigate. Lebanon Fire also responded.
